About this property

Welcome to Texas Hill Country Resort (Formerly Medina Highpoint Resort)

Texas Hill Country Resort, formerly known as Medina Highpoint Resort, offers a blend of hotel, campground, and RV park accommodations set within the scenic hills of Medina, Texas. The resort features rustic cabins and camping facilities amid dramatic hills and canyons, providing a quiet and peaceful environment appreciated by guests seeking a natural retreat. While the property embraces a laid-back, country lodge style, amenities such as free Wi-Fi, outdoor pool, hot tub, and pet-friendly areas aim to enhance guest comfort.

The resort’s facilities include shared bathrooms and laundry rooms, a general store with pizza and wings available to order, and recreational spaces such as hiking trails, a big recreation hall, and a playground. Some cabins offer private restrooms and scenic hilltop views. Accessibility and family-friendly features are notable, making it suitable for visitors traveling with children or pets. However, some guests have mentioned that phone service and Wi-Fi can be unreliable, reflecting a more rustic setting rather than a fully modern resort experience.

Located at 23195 TX-16 in Medina, Texas, the resort provides convenient access to regional attractions like The Museum of Western Art, Stonehenge II, and Louise Hays Park. San Antonio International Airport is about an hour and a half away by car, making the property a reasonable base for exploring the Hill Country area. Reviewers highlight the welcoming staff and well-maintained grounds, with many valuing the calm atmosphere and natural surroundings.

This property is well-suited for travelers looking to disconnect and enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and nature watching. It may appeal to those who appreciate a simple, rustic setting over a polished resort experience. Visitors interested in sightseeing and recreation in the region might find the resort a practical choice, while those prioritizing extensive on-site services and strong connectivity could seek alternatives.

If you want a quiet getaway, this is the place. Spectacular views. The WiFi is pretty bad, but if you want to disconnect, this is it! Phone service is iffy.

For the price, this place was awesome! It had incredible views since it’s nestled right in dramatic hills and canyons. Quiet and peaceful too, with crisp air, nice nature and fun hikes to a few lookouts. The cabin was clean, smelled like warm wood and was cozy. Parking was easy. Nitpicks would be that the bathrooms were not in the cabins themselves, and the hot tub was cold. It’s definitely more simple and rustic, don’t expect an actual “resort” but more like a country lodge/day camp feel. I paid $70 a night and felt it was well worth it, it was way prettier and nicer than what a sleazy $70 motel would be

This was our home for 9 months, and we loved it. It has everything: amazing views, nice pool, fun hiking trail with a cave, pizza/general store with an outdoor music venue with recreational games, accommodating RV/cabin/tent camping grounds with a laundry room, several public bathrooms with showers, a friendly hard-working crew running things, a big rec hall with a playground, and always a family of deer roaming the grounds. Peaceful and safe for kids, we’ll miss this place.

We discovered this place just exploring since we needed a place to stay that would be close to our hiking plans. What a great discovery! The cabins/rooms are great: clean, comfy, fully equipped and perfectly located for you to explore around. Theres also space for you to camp with your camper. Pro tip: make sure you book one of the cabins located on the top hill "the view". They have a private restroom and the view is no joke.

This resort recently purchased , formerly Medina Highpoint. It is notable, the new managers are doing an amazing job updating the resort. The views are amazing, the cabins are very nice. They have hiking trails, rec rooms, huge meeting rooms, and a store. I highly recommend staying here in the hill country. Oh and it’s not too far from Kerrville and Bandera.

I adore this place and I will be coming back. It’s owned by the kindest family and they pay attention to every detail to make your stay comfortable and peaceful. This a true retreat! Please respect the rules and regulations to keep this place a little sanctuary in the mountains! It was also a prime location to all the fun country activities we did like visiting Fredericksburg & horseback riding in Bandera Texas
